Privacy Policy
Youiee — by Art Of The Mind LTD
Last updated June 8, 2026
🔒 Our Privacy Promise — In Plain English
Your conversations are yours. We don't sell them, share them, or use them to train AI. Our systems are designed so that no one on our team has standing access to your data. Voice mode is encrypted. When you delete your account, your data is wiped from the app straight away — with one narrow exception: for a limited period we keep a restricted, access-controlled copy purely so we can defend against legal claims. We explain exactly how that works in Section 7.
This policy exists to explain the legal details behind that promise.
Two Zones: Our Website vs. Our App
We believe in honesty, so let's address this upfront: our marketing website and our app operate under very different privacy models. We want you to understand exactly what happens in each.
| Marketing Website (youiee.com) | Youiee App (the product) |
|---|---|
| Uses cookies, analytics, and advertising pixels (e.g. Google Analytics, Pinterest) to measure and improve our marketing. Standard industry practice. | No behavioural tracking. No cookies. No pixels. Your data lives in a private database space, architected so that no one on our team has standing access. |
The rest of this policy covers both zones in detail.
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy is issued by Art Of The Mind LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom, trading as Youiee. When we say "we", "us", or "our", we mean Art Of The Mind LTD. Youiee is a software application — a private AI journaling and self-discovery companion — and is not a health, medical, or mental-health service. This policy explains how that software handles your information.

2. Our Marketing Website (youiee.com)
When you visit youiee.com (but have not yet opened the app), we use standard marketing tools to understand how visitors find us and to run advertising campaigns. As a small team with a limited budget, these tools are essential for us to reach people who might benefit from Youiee.
What We Collect on the Website
- Cookies and tracking pixels: We use Google Analytics, Pinterest tracking pixels, and similar technologies to measure website traffic, advertising effectiveness, and visitor demographics.
- Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited.
- Advertising identifiers: Used by ad platforms to measure whether our ads led to visits or signups.
How You Can Control This
You can manage or block cookies via your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to use the Youiee app.
3. The Youiee App (Our Product)
This is where our privacy commitment is strongest. Once you enter the Youiee app, the tracking stops entirely. Here is exactly what we do and do not do:
What We DO NOT Do Inside the App
- We do not track your behaviour, screen views, or usage patterns
- We do not use cookies, pixels, or analytics tools
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone
- No one on our team has standing access to your data — our systems are designed that way
- We do not hand your data to third-party AI providers for general processing
- We do not use your data to train AI models
- We do not serve you advertisements
What We Collect Inside the App
To provide you with a personalised self-discovery experience, the app collects the following:
| Data | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Account creation and authentication | Our servers, secured at rest |
| Conversations (text you type) | Generating your personalized in-app responses and reflections | Private database space |
| Timezone | Contextual awareness (e.g. time-appropriate responses) | Private database space |
| Approximate location (via IP) | Contextual awareness (e.g. local relevance) | Private database space |
| Voice input | Voice conversation mode | Encrypted; not retained as plaintext audio |
How Your Data Is Protected
- Self-hosted AI: Your conversations are processed on infrastructure we operate, not handed to third-party AI providers for general processing.
- Private by design: Your data lives in a private database space, and our systems are designed so that no one on our team has standing access to it. In normal operation, your conversations and personal information are not read by employees, contractors, or administrators.
- Encrypted voice: Voice conversations are encrypted in transit and are not retained as plaintext audio.
- No behavioural tracking: We do not run analytics inside the app on which screens you visit, how long you spend, or what features you use.
4. Your Data, Your Control
We believe your data belongs to you. Here is what that means in practice:
- Delete your account instantly: There is a button in the app. When you press it, your account and data are removed from the app straight away — no 30-day waiting period and no soft-delete inside the product. The one exception is a restricted, access-controlled archive we keep purely to defend against legal claims, described in Section 7. That archive is never used for anything else and is permanently deleted once the relevant legal-retention period ends.
- Access your data: You may request a copy of all data we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@youiee.com.
- Correct your data: You may request corrections to any inaccurate personal information.
- Withdraw consent: You may withdraw consent for data processing at any time. Withdrawing consent for core processing effectively means deleting your account.
5. Third Parties
Payment Processing
Payments are handled by Stripe and Apple. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. For Stripe's privacy practices, see stripe.com/privacy. For Apple's, see apple.com/legal/privacy.
Marketing Website Only
The third-party tools listed below operate only on our marketing website (youiee.com) and have no access to your in-app data:
- Google Analytics (website traffic measurement)
- Pinterest (advertising attribution)
- Simple Analytics (privacy-friendly website analytics)
These services cannot see, access, or interact with any data from the Youiee app.
AI Processing
Conversations in the app are processed on infrastructure we operate, hosted by our server provider, rather than sent to general-purpose third-party AI services for processing.
6. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR/UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: Processing your conversations and personal data to deliver the Youiee service you signed up for.
- Consent: For optional data such as marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interest: For website analytics and advertising to sustain our business. This does not extend to in-app data.
- Legal obligation: Where required by law (e.g. responding to valid legal requests).
- Establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims: Retaining a limited, restricted-access record of your conversations and account activity where necessary to bring, or to defend Youiee against, legal claims. This basis is expressly recognised by Article 9(2)(f) and Article 17(3)(e) of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, and is described in Section 7.
7. Data Retention
While your account is active, we keep your data for as long as you use Youiee. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from the live app immediately — it stops being part of the product, with no soft-delete and no grace period inside the app.
Retention for Legal Defence
One narrow exception applies. Because Youiee involves sensitive personal reflections, and because users occasionally raise disputes or bring legal claims, we retain a restricted, access-controlled copy of your conversations and account records solely to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims — for example, to respond accurately and fairly if an allegation is later made about your use of the Service. This archived copy is kept separate from the live app. It is never used to personalise your experience, for marketing, or to train AI, and it is accessible only to a small number of authorised people, and our legal advisers, when a specific legal need actually arises. This is why deleting your account does not necessarily erase this copy — a right expressly preserved by Article 17(3)(e) of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR.
We keep this legal-defence archive only for as long as necessary for that purpose, and we permanently delete records on a rolling basis once they are no longer needed. In practice this means up to the applicable statutory limitation period — generally up to six (6) years from your last use of the Service under the law of England and Wales — and longer only where a specific claim, dispute, investigation, or legal obligation requires us to preserve a record. Once that period ends, the record is permanently deleted.
For the marketing website, standard analytics data is retained according to the respective tool's retention policies (typically 14–26 months for Google Analytics).
8. Security
We take security seriously. Our measures include:
- Encryption for voice conversations
- Data encrypted at rest and in transit
- Architecture designed so that no one on our team has standing access to user data
- AI processing on infrastructure we operate
- Regular security reviews and updates
No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our architecture is designed so that, in normal operation, user data is not accessible to our team — minimising exposure in the event of an internal incident.
9. Children's Privacy
Youiee is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. It is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, please contact us at hello@youiee.com and we will delete the account immediately.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR, UK GDPR, and US state privacy laws such as CCPA):
- Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure: Delete your account and its associated data instantly via the in-app button, or by contacting us. As expressly permitted by Article 17(3)(e) of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, we may retain a limited, restricted-access copy where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, as described in Section 7; that copy is deleted once the need for it ends.
- Right to data portability: Request your data in a portable format.
- Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Right to restrict processing: Request that we limit how we use your data.
- Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent at any time for consent-based processing.
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@youiee.com. We will respond within 30 days (or sooner where required by law).
If you believe we have not adequately addressed your concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g. the ICO in the UK, or your EU Member State supervisory authority).
11. Additional Rights for US Residents
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other US states with privacy legislation have additional rights, including:
- The right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
- The right to request deletion of personal information
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
- The right to opt out of targeted advertising within the app (we do not run ads in the app)
We have not sold personal information in the past 12 months, and we do not intend to.
12. Do-Not-Track Signals
Our app does not track you at all, regardless of your browser's Do-Not-Track setting. On our marketing website, we respect DNT signals where technically feasible.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision.
